Camellia Jap. 'Brushfield's Yellow' - A rare, evergreen and hardy shrub. A double cream delight! RHS Award of Garden Merit!

Key Information:  Product Code: CAMBRUSHYELLOW

Name: Camellia Jap. 'Brushfield's Yellow' - A rare, evergreen and hardy shrub. A double cream delight! RHS Award of Garden Merit!

Description: This is one of the earliest double flowering Camellias and will flower in late winter to early spring. A truly elegant, upright evergreen shrub with an ultimate height of 2 metres which produces full peony-shaped blooms in cream with delicately shaded pale yellow centres which will indeed make your garden special. This is a slow growing variety of Camellia with an upright habit and can also be trained to grow in to a small tree. Prefers to be planted in partial shade but not east facing as it does not like cold, dry eastery winds. Camellias prefer a slightly acid, humus rich soil with good drainage, and do their very best when planted in partial shade. Fertilise in spring with a good quality azalea food, and mulch with composted leaves or compost and it really is that simple to have the perfect Camellia which will reward you year after year- there is no mystery to growing them! If you mulch your Camellia it will probably live longer than you - they have been known to have a life-span of up to 150 years! In ancient Japan and China the name Camellia symbolised the 'tree of spring' and this plant has long been regarded as a symbol of longevity, love, good fortune and happiness - the perfect choice to uplift you at any time of the gardening year! Camellia 'Brushfields Yellow' has also been awardes the RHS award of garden merit, a truly spectaular edition to any garden!
