Key Information:  Product Code: JBFKS

Name: Climbing Plants x2 Offer- Clematis cirrhosa 'Jinlge Bells' and Clematis cirrhosa 'Freckles'' - SIMPLY TWO OF THE BEST EVERGREEN & SCENTED CLEMATIS!

Description: This Evergreen Clematis Winter Offer consists of one of each of 'Jingle Bells' and 'Freckles' which are two of the very best evergreen scented winter flowering Clematis available - a must have winter garden plant offer! Clematis cirrhosa 'Jingle Bells' is a lovely Evergreen cultivar and produces nodding bell like flowers during the winter and early spring. The buds and young flowers are pale cream, but as the flowers mature the colour clears to pure snow white. The stamens, which have lime-greeny-cream filaments and beige anthers are a prominent feature of these blooms. The foliage is a really healthy looking dark green, which displays the flowers to good effect. 'Jingle Bells' is a perfect name as it has usually begun it's display by Christmas, when the rest of the garden is sleeping! For the first few years they prefer a sheltered position, however, once established they give a vigorous display with gorgeous perfume. Clematis. cirrhosa 'Jingle Bells' has been awarded the RHS AGM ( Award of Garden Merit ) for its oustanding garden performance and best grown on a south or west aspect. Does not require pruning only a gentle trim to tidy after you have enjoyed the last flowers in early spring. You may choose to plant your 'Jingle Bells' alongside Clematis 'Freckles' which is a great plant for winter interest as it flowers through the winter season when the garden needs an injection of colour. Clematis 'Freckles' bears creamy white, pendulous flowers, which have dark red spots on the inside of the petals. This attractive, vigorous cultivar was raised by (I hope he doesn't mind the accolade!) the 'Clematis Supremo' Raymond Evison, from wild seed collected in the Balearic Islands, and named after one of his daughters whose nickname is Freckles. It has scented single, nodding, creamy pink flowers with reddish maroon speckling on the insides of the tepals. Each tepal is 4 - 5cm (1.5 - 2in) long. The RHS Floral Committee awarded Clematis 'Freckles' an Award of Garden Merit and described it as:"Large evergreen climber with neat, finely-cut leaves tinged bronze in winter. Flowers 5 cm wide, pale yellow heavily speckled with maroon within. Good silky seed-heads." Clematis 'Freckles' is best grown in full sun or partial shade and only needs a light pruning after flowering to tidy this absolute gem of a climbing plant. A good source of nectar for the early bumble bees. Treat yourself to something really special and brighten up your winter garden with this special Winter Garden Offer!
