Clematis alpina 'Blue Dancer' - BRILLIANT DISPLAYS OF DEEP BLUE LANTERNS! This Hardy Perennial Climber has been container grown so can be planted at any time of the year. We despatch WITH container so the roots are safe.
Clematis alpina 'Blue Dancer' gives brilliant displays of elegant satiny deep blue to deep lavender flowers with cream centres that resemble charming hanging lanterns during April and May. One of the earliest of the hardy clematis to flower and the real beauty of the nodding bell shaped flowers is that they
retain their deep blue colour for a long time since the light levels are low when they flower during April and May. Its easy to grow and will perform well in sun or full shade, and looks brilliant cascading over containers - their compact growth habit make them a good choice for gardens with limited space. This Clematis requires little or no pruning just after flowering to keep them tidy - and as Blue Lagoon flowers mostly on old wood this Clematis will give you masses of double flowers early in spring and then will flower again in summer from new growth. Grown in containers or planted to grow over walls or to grow through your favourite shrubs Blue Lagoon when combined with tangy lime or soft yellow foliage gives a heavenly contrast. This climber has an added bonus of decorative seed- heads, which are very silky and fluffy and silver in colour being retained throughout the summer months. A very hardy, EASY TO GROW, low maintenance climber.
