Key Information:  Product Code: ELSASPATHHCN

Name: Clematis 'Elsa Spath'.This Hardy Perennial Climber has been container grown so can be planted at any time of the year. We despatch WITH container so the roots are safe.

Description: Clematis 'Elsa Spath' has intoxicating mid blue flowers with contrasting red anthers. These gorgeous blooms appear all summer long from may to september. Clematis 'Elsa Spath' has bright to mid-green leaves which compliment these dramatic blooms magnificently. Being of a compact habit 'Elsa Spath' is ideal for smaller gardens and growing in containers. To prune, remove any dead or weak stems in late winter or early spring and cut remaining stems back to the highest pair of strong-growing buds.To encourage blooms to cover the whole plant, train the stems so that they are evenly spaced on their support. As new growth appears in mid-spring, train this to fill any gaps - giving a simply outstanding performance. This clematis with its mid blue flowers looks stunning when planted next to other varieties in yellow, such as 'Bill MacKenzie' or heavenly when planted with Jasmine 'Clotted Cream' - Real 'WOW!'
