Key Information:  Product Code: DVHC

Name: Privacy-Screening Evergreen Collection - a NEW range for this year helping you disguise common garden eyesores!

Description: These EVERGREEN & Easy to Grow Screening Climbing Plants are a New Collection for this year and they are just the job for giving you privacy in your garden, giving you colour and fragrance and are really useful for disguising problem areas, compost heaps, dustbins, telegraph poles and other common garden eyesores! The first plant of our really helpful collection is a NEW introduction, and this one is very easy to grow. Particularly HARDY and an evergreen climbing plant, with a bushy spreading habit, has dark green leaves and very fragrant, flashy red flushed flowers which mature to peach and yellow shades. Just the sound of the word 'honeysuckle' is pleasant - it brings to mind warm summer evenings with drifting sweet scents and the sounds of bumble bees busying themselves sipping nectar! The flowers which have a strong perfume adorn the vine from spring through to late summer. This EVERGREEN climbing plant is fully hardy and can be grown in a variety of positions and is nearly indestructible! Commonly grown along a trellis, fence or other framework, this honeysuckle can also be grown to give ground cover. Grows in any well-dained soil or compost, and can be planted in sun or partial shade. Ancient folklore believes that if a honeysuckle climbing plant grows around the entrance to the home it prevents goblins and witches from entering, and is said to bring good fortune! Passion Flower 'Voileacea' is the second plant in this collection and has such remarkable rose-mauve blooms it appears to be transluscent or nearly glow-in-the-dark. The first blooms on younger vines start a deep mauve-violet and as the vine matures into its second and third year they develop with a beautiful rose tint. Passion Flower 'Voileacea' blooms repeatedly and it is evergreen and smooth-textured and hardy tolerating temperatures down to -7C (20F). It has a healthy dark leaf which sets the flowers off well. This hardy vine has been awarded the RHS Award of Garden Merit and is an interesting vine to grow. These climbing plants make rapid annual growth each year as they cling with tendrils. Passion Flower vines won't damage brickwork or fences but need suitable supports to grow on and can also be used indoors as a houseplant or grown as a conservatory plant if you wish. The third plant to complete our collection is the rare and very hardy evergreen climbing plant has been introduced from Mexico and is becoming known as the Mexican Climbing Hydrangea. It is a lovely, evergreen climber which is remarkably hardy. The foliage is self clinging and has copper tones maturing to dark green making it ideal for covering sheds, pergolas, walls, fences and screening from unsightly objects and neighbours! The flowers also are quite extraordinary as the buds are the size of duck eggs opening to beautiful scented flowers during the summer. This clever choice of plants are just the job for giving you privacy in your own garden and help you to create an oasis and keep the outside world at bay!
