Clematis 'Beauty of Worcester' is a superb cultivatar with a moderate growth rate. In May-June, this climbing plant flowers first on the previous years growth with large double deep blue or semi-double deep blue flowers. The finely detailed flowers have 6-7 concenric sepal layers, with each layer becoming just a little smaller than the previous layer. Then Clematis 'Beauty of Worcester' gives you the added bonus of during August and September it flowers again! This time the flowers are single on the current years growth.The flowers are intense blue-violet sepals, with reddish central bars and have the most gorgeous creamy-yellow stamens.
Clematis 'Beauty of Worcester' has been awarded the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit.
Excellent for trellises, poles and other garden supports. This climbing plant can also be grown over natural supports such as coniferous or deciduous bushes and dwarf shrubs.
